At Little Hopes Charitable Trust, we believe that cleanliness is not just a habit — it’s a human right. In alignment with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, our organization has launched a ground-level health and hygiene campaign titled “Swachhta Seva”, focused on cleaning public washrooms and conducting mosquito fumigation drives in slum areas.
This initiative is more than a cleanliness drive — it is a mission to restore dignity, ensure health, and create a safer living environment for the most vulnerable sections of society.
Why This Program Matters
For families living in densely packed slum areas, basic sanitation is often a daily struggle. Unclean public toilets, stagnant water, and mosquito breeding grounds are more than just inconveniences — they are dangerous health threats.
Through Swachhta Seva, we aim to:
Sanitize and deep-clean public washrooms to reduce the spread of infections.
Fumigate slum areas to control mosquito breeding and prevent diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya.
Educate residents on basic hygiene practices, water management, and waste disposal.

Regular cleaning and disinfecting of public washrooms, including scrubbing, bleaching, and maintenance.
Fogging operations and smoke fumigation, particularly around open drains and water-logged areas.

Cleaned over 50 community toilets across slum clusters.
Carried out mosquito control drives in 15 densely populated settlements.

It was a chilly morning in Delhi when I met Anjali, a 19-year-old girl huddled in a torn shawl near a tea stall. She was begging trying to make just enough to buy food for her siblings. Her parents had passed away during the pandemic, and school had long become a luxury she couldn't afford. What We Do
Little Hopes Charitable Trust’s program works across India, aiming to empower underprivileged individuals through sustainable employment solutions. We believe that financial independence is the first step toward real freedom. Our model isn’t about handouts—it’s about building lasting capacity.
We start by identifying potential beneficiaries from low-income or marginalized backgrounds—often through our partner NGOs, local volunteers, or community outreach. Once identified, we:
Provide skill-based training tailored to local market demands (e.g., tailoring, mobile repair, food service, digital literacy).
Connect them to job opportunities or help set up micro-enterprises.
Offer mentorship and emotional support, recognizing that confidence and community are just as crucial as skill.

Turning Pages, Changing Futures: Little Hopes Charitable Trust Launches Book Drive for Underprivileged Children
In a world where books open doors to imagination, learning, and opportunity, Little Hopes Charitable Trust took a firm step forward to ensure no child is left behind. With the theme “Education for All”, the Trust launched a Book Distribution Programme across urban slums to bring the gift of learning to underprivileged children.
The Mission: Bridging the Literacy Gap
Millions of children across India still grow up without access to basic educational materials. Many living in slum communities attend school irregularly or drop out altogether—not due to lack of interest, but lack of resources.
Recognizing this barrier, Little Hopes Charitable Trust initiated the book drive to distribute free textbooks, notebooks, storybooks, and stationery kits to children in need. The goal: to inspire a love for learning and encourage school attendance.
On the Ground: Direct Distribution in High-Need Areas
Volunteers and team members visited slum areas in Navi Mumbai, Mankhurd, Thane, and Panvel, engaging directly with families and children. Each child received a personalized education kit based on their school level. Beyond just handing out materials, the volunteers also:
Conducted short reading sessions and storytelling
Spoke to parents about the importance of education
Enrolled children into community learning groups for regular support
The atmosphere was one of joy, curiosity, and hope. For many children, it was the first time they received a brand-new book of their own.

Little Hopes Charitable Trust, in coordination with the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), recently conducted a special outreach program aimed at protecting and uplifting community helpers and frontline workers in vulnerable areas. The initiative focused on health safety, awareness, and recognition of those who contribute daily to the functioning and cleanliness of society.
As part of this initiative, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits were distributed to sanitation workers, daily wage laborers, and other frontline individuals. Each kit included:
